DEPTH of FIELD and EXPOSURE      half-day

(1/2 day Practical Photography workshop)

Strong depth and rich tonality are key creative tools for a photographer.

FROM CLOSE-UP TO SCENIC: Learn how to set your key camera controls to capture great people and nature shots, and to make the subject really stand out. Get just the right amount of background blur to ‘lift’ the subject. Also master the opposite approach – capturing sharp detail right through the scene, from front to back, often used for scenic landscapes and cityscapes.

DEMONSTRATION and a PRACTICAL SHOOT: This half-day workshop first explains and demonstrates the camera settings involved, in the excellent facilities of the Creatif Image studio in Brussels. It demystifies and shows clearly how aperture settings can be quickly made to achieve good exposure along with creative control of background blur.

Then we’ll head out to the lovely neighbourhood around the nearby Etangs d’Ixelles to turn principle into practice. The area offers an abundance of subjects to try out new-found learnings.

FOR DEVELOPING PHOTOGRAPHERS: This is an excellent follow-up to grow or refresh your understanding of key skills. The workshop is suitable for anyone with a reasonable working knowledge of their main camera controls who would like to develop their skills.
